News from ICAI Institute:
Minor CA students to appear for CA exams with consent is the latest news from ICAI. The students who fall into the minor category need to get a signature in the consent form from parents issued by ICAI. The exam centres must possess a stock of sanitisers, mask and water bottles to provide to the students during the examination. The student needs to enter the hall with the admit card and consent letter of the parents. Students also need to carry masks, sanitiser and water bottles to protect themselves from biological agents.
The admit cards consist of the details of the date, time, exam venue and candidates details. Before entering the exam hall, the authorities check the temperature, and if the temperature is above the level, the student is restricted from writing the examination. As a preparatory process, before the CA examination, the instructions are released. For the last two years, CA students performance gauged through the online examination. This time there is a demand for the physical examination with stringent rules. ICAI is particular about the comfort of the students. So, exam centres are close to the residence of the students. An opt-out option is given to the students who have a history of covid-19 on or after April 15th, 2021. The student and the family member need to conclude that for the past eight months they do not have the record of Covid-19. This check is to protect the students from re-infection that weakens the immune system.
General instructions for Exam centres:
ICAI had attributed additional 194 centres as exam centres to restrict travel and maintain hygiene at the centres. Before starting the examination, the seats of the exam hall has to be sanitized. The gap in between the student’s seats is as per the social distancing norms. The stocks of sanitiser, mask and water bottle should fill the prominent areas of the exam centre. At the entrance, the students need to undergo thermos scanning. Stationery items, hand sanitiser, hand gloves, water bottle, face mask, and ID cards are the things to buy before the examination. The entry and exit timing for the students are 4:00 PM and 4:00 pm. If the exit is by 5:00 PM. then there are restrictions. The exit of two rooms in the exam centre differs. The entry will happen strictly at the given time. This is to avoid public crowding before the examination. After using washrooms, the students need to sanitize their hands. After completing the examination the students must move in the queue system. There must be a dustbin inside and outside of the exam hall with the pedal pushing. This provision is for the candidates to drop their masks after the examination. The vehicles used by the student for the travel must be kept in the respective place. Crowding and poor management will be strictly restricted.
Supreme Court decision on CA exams:
ICAI approached the court and submitted an SOP about the examination process. The court has mentioned it as inadequate and requested ICAI add further points to make the physical examination hazardless. If there is a history of covid-19 infection from the family of the student or the student himself or herself, a certificate from the doctor is much needed. With this certificate, the student can go for the opt-out option. 2021 examination atmosphere is as same as 2020. In the year 2020, the court ordered for online examination. Now to make education efficient, there is a necessity to conduct a physical examination. So, the court of law directed for physical examination after considering many valid points. The CA examination of December is planned from the 5th to December 20. The online portal was used to deliver the exam application forms. The last date of application with penalty is October 3, 2021. And without penalty, the last date of application is September 30, 2021. The registration process for the three levels of CA examination is the same.
