There was a certain time when it was believed that finding a job was just about knowing someone in an organization or someone strong enough to recommend your name. People usually stuck to one job or one organization all through their career. There was a certain sense of being complacent with the security that the job provided.
But today times are changing. While the number of opportunities hasinfinitely increased, so has the competition. This means that the age-old method of asking someone for a recommendation is no longer working because the organization is increasingly looking at skills and fitment for filling up a certain vacancy or job position.
It is estimated that 1.5 million engineers graduate every year in our country. The percentage of engineers who however get a job that matches their skill set or area of expertise is hugely limited. Unlike an engineering entrance examination, wherein passing the exam ensures a B.Tech degree, the path of a CA is far more difficult. From the CA Foundation, all the way up to the CA Final, aspiring candidates must stay focused and determined all along to ensure that they succeed. The need to be part of an institute is highly important for aspirants as institutes provide aspirants a map and a compassto ensure that they are always traveling in a path that is leading them to success in these examinations. The guidance that these institutes provide with their experienced faculty and tried and tested methods of succeeding is invaluable.
Additionally, candidates need to be mindful of the way they spend their time. Essential time management along this journey helps keep them always focused on what is important and what needs to get done. This is again important because in the 3-year period of articleship, students can well deviate from study and be more job focused. However, if they learn to keep their mind constantly ahead and understand that the returns would be much higher if they manage to crack the CA Final, then they are on the sure part to success.
Given the long arduous journey that aspirants have and the temptation to make quick money as opposed to being able to successfully complete their specialization, it is easy to lose steam or motivation, but at the same time if students learn to treat each step as a building block towards eventually clearing the CA Final, it would help them remain level-headed and balanced in achieving their goals and dreams.
There is no better time than now. There is no better situation than now. Procrastinating, losing motivation, being complacent, losing focus can all be ready ingredients for failure. However,success can be achieved by seizing the moment and making the most of it. That moment is ‘NOW’ and in a time like now, the demand for this highly important aspect of business has never been so high. The focus on costs has never been this high. This makes this field and area of expertise as one of the most sought-after ones in current times.

A step that makes the individual aware that mere intent without hard work, perseverance and singleminded focus in this long journey cannot lead to success.
